- Stylus Input: Most PDAs had resistive touchscreens and required a stylus — handwriting recognition was rough!
- Infrared Beaming: Sharing contacts via IR beam meant aligning two PDAs like a laser puzzle.
- CompactFlash & PCMCIA: Huge slots for storage or modems, often bigger than the PDA itself.
