Amanda bursts into the room holding a clipboard with wide eyes. Behind her, Bylla stares at a dashboard blinking red.
Amanda: “We’ve lost contact with Server 42 in... Greenland?!”
Dr. Lang: “Impossible. It pings every 60 seconds like a Swiss watch.”
Dr. Lang slams down a blueprint titled “Operation Pingback.” FBE charges its battery pack. Ryqn snacks on bolts.
Dr. Lang: “If the ping won’t come to us—we go to the ping.”
Ryqn: “We could remote in—”
FBE: “Where’s the fun in that?”
The gang hops onto an oversized drone-pod Ryqn modified. Amanda clutches her project binder, looking worried.
Ryqn: “Safety protocols? Those are Earth rules.”
Dr Lang: “Oh no…”
The drone crashes into a snowbank. FBE is upside down, blinking “Rebooting.” Amanda is taking attendance.
Amanda: “Next time, I book the tickets.”
Bylla: “You had tickets?!”
Ryqn scans the wall with a custom device. A glowing ‘X’ appears, and a hidden door slides open with a hiss.
Ryqn: “Classic Xavier Media architecture—minimalist and overly encrypted.”
Amanda: “I detect legacy code inside. Possibly… PHP 4.”
Server 42 stands alone, glowing ominously. A raccoon in a hoodie is nibbling on a cable.
Amanda: “We have an intruder!”
Dr Lang: “Nope, that’s Carl. He’s on the dev team.”
Ryqn is physically soldering wires while FBE shines a light with his head. Bylla coaches him via tablet.
Bylla: “This is like threading code through spaghetti!”
FBE: “Would you like me to automate it?”
Bylla: “NO!”
Amanda flips a big lever. All lights come back on. Ping dashboards show green again.
Amanda: “Server 42 is back online.”
Dr. Lang: “And uptime… preserved.”
Everyone’s back at their desks. The raccoon (Carl) now has a Xavier Media badge.
Ryqn: “Should we document this in the changelog?”
Amanda: “Too wild. I’ll just call it a ‘minor patch.’”
